Welcome to the last week of Haunting Wednesday! For those who are stumbling across this for the first time, Haunting Wednesday it's a weekly feature hosted by me and the author awesomeness that Lisa Rogers is, and as you might have hinted, it's about... well, ghosts! Me and Lisa Rogers came up with this wonderful feature in honour of her non-fiction book, On Haunted Ground, released on May 8th and published by Llewellyn Worldwide. Over the past few weeks, Lisa shared with us her personal experiences with the paranormal world, and today Lisa is answering your questions!
Keep reading to discover her answers and to find out who won the signed items!
This is it, the
last post for Haunting Wednesday *sniff*. I have really enjoyed this and I hope
all of you have too, but I need to get back to working on my next masterpiece. J
When you have
time, please come visit me over at Ghost Talk
Psst, I’ll be doing more promotional
giveaways soon.
As promised, for
this post I’ll be attempting to answer the questions that were submitted during
this feature. Before we get started, let me say I don’t claim to be an expert
on ghost I’m merely offering my opinion as an observer of their behavior.

April 26, Breila said, “Maybe it was just our old
house settling itself (it was built back in the 60s) but I used to hear odd
things at night when I was alone. (I'm not a skeptic, I'm just uncertain) Has
that ever happened to you?”
Oh definitely, older houses are notorious
for the sounds they sometimes make. Usually it is explainable noises such as
the house settling, old pipes, etc. I wouldn’t be comfortable in calling that
paranormal unless other things were going on as well. My suggestion would be to
see if you notice a pattern in the times this happens. Sometimes a place will
hold what is commonly known as a place memory. In these cases, the ghosts repeat
the same action over and over. It may be a daily occurrence or even just a once
a year thing. If you notice a pattern or are experiencing other activity, you
may get some answers by “layering the evidence.” By this, I mean look for more
than one anomaly at a time. An example of this would be to try to take pictures
and see if anything odd shows up in your photos, while at the same time using a
voice recorder or an EMF detector.

May 17 Marybelle said “I often get a sense of
another. I'm so glad you got to share your moment. Do you know who it is? I'm
new here.”
Welcome marybelle I’m glad you found us. As
far “knowing” who it is, my answer is no. However, as I’ve tried to explain in
On Haunted Ground I usually get a sense of something about most of the ghosts
that inhabit my home. Most of the time, I have no way of knowing whether I’m
right or not—it’s just a feeling and terribly hard to try to explain. Over the
years, there have been several occasions when I’ve been able to “check myself”
and surprisingly enough I’m pretty accurate.
With this particular perfume-wearing ghost,
I’ve always felt she was a young woman in either her late twenties or early
thirties. I get a sense that she has dark hair and I believe that like many of
our ghosts, she is buried in the cemetery located close to my house.

May 18 Silvia said “I won't lie, sometimes I smell
a certain scent and then I feel like I'm being watched...So my question is: do
you think it is possible to have the same presence following you in different
places?”to have the same presence following you in different places?
Yes, in my opinion this is not only
possible, but very probable. Just as some ghosts are attached to a specific
place, I think others are attached to people. Many “experts” feel that when
this happens, the person being followed more than likely had a connection to
the spirit in life. I have however heard of someone unknowingly moving into a haunted
house, discovering it was haunted and move out, only to find that the ghost
moved with them.
